Monday Morning Madness - Just keepin it real
Yesterday I was sick. That should cover it. I probably don't have to explain to you mama's that when you are sick the whole house stops functioning "normally". My husband did the best he could, God bless him. But this morning we ran out of the house in such a franticness (is that a word?) that to be honest, I am afraid to go home. There are clothes everywhere, dirty dishes in the sink and the girls beds aren't made and I forgot to get dinner out for tonight. In my heart of hearts I want to be the Proverbs 31 mommy. The one that wakes up before the sun to make lunches, clean and spend time with the Lord. But today: it didn't happen. I think sometimes for me to be ENCOURAGED by another mom means that I just want to hear that I am normal. Knowing that I am doing the best I can and that sometimes it just doesn't all get done. But prayerfully I get to try again tomorrow!

A New Season | A New Hope
The seasons in our lives change on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis. There are times when I feel like I am stuck in a washing machine on the heavy duty wash cycle being pulled back and forth, back and forth. Having 3 children now has made this cycle even a bit more than sometimes I think I can handle. Let's face it, I am a mommy, a wife, and a full time real estate agent not to mention that I don't want to miss out on a minute of time spent with the creator of the universe and the maker of all of these amazing days. So if that's not all enough the Lord has laid a HEAVY calling on my heart to encourage other moms that may be feeling the same way. I have to admit that I have been arguing with Him for months now. This seems to be how the conversation goes...
Him: "Just do it, my love"
Me: "But, Lord, what in the heck will I say? Where do I start? Who will listen?"
Him: "just start, I will take it from there"
Me: "start what again? Can you be a bit more specific"
Him: "Just trust me"
me: "But, Lord, you know how I am."
Him: "yes, my child, I know. Now, just do it"
me: with a big sigh...."Ok."
Does this seem familiar to anyone else?? He totally knows the plans that he has for us and his word tells us that they are there to prosper us not to harm us.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
So, with a greatful heart I am boldy and joyfully hoping that through this blog (and some other avenues that I will be so so so happy to share with you soon) that you, as a mom, will find blessing and encouragement from Him. Afterall, you are loved with a love that we cannot even imagine. My prayer is that I can help you feel that love in your daily moments with your spouse, children, work, home. Whether you are a new mama carrying your first baby or your children are grown please be blessed knowing that whatever season you are in at this exact moment. You are loved.
"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes." Matthew 6:34 (MSG)
Prayerfully in Jesus Name,
Lisa
